Every President has his share of “lost moments”, a seeming black hole from which words are pulled out of ones mouth never to be able to be taken back again- EVER! Bush was loaded with statements that pundits could make the butt of many jokes; however, Obama seems to get lost without the TELEPROMPTER more often than not.

Republicans have been making the case (it is valid after all) that when the U.S. Government gets involved in something, it’s a MESS. Worst yet it winds up costing so much more than planned that we tax payers get stuck with an increasing debt year after year.

In trying to peddle his healthcare program Obama must have forgotten what his argument was as he said, “UPS and FedEx are doing just fine. It’s the Post Office that’s always having problems.” And the point of that argument? How does that make a national health care program work better than private enterprise?

No institution has been the butt of more government- inefficiency jokes than the U.S. Postal Service. Maybe the Department of Motor Vehicles?

Impromptu Obamanomics is getting scarier by the day. For all the president’s touted intelligence, his un-teleprompted comments reveal a basic misunderstanding of capitalist principles.

For example, asked at the Portsmouth town hall how private insurance companies can compete with the government, the president said the following:

“If the private insurance companies are providing a good bargain, and if the public option has to be self-sustaining — meaning taxpayers aren’t subsidizing it, but it has to run on charging premiums and providing good services and a good network of doctors, just like any other private insurer would do — then I think private insurers should be able to compete.”

Huh?

Let me just ask a simple question. Since we currently have a shortage of DOCTORS (all agree), what will happen when we add 48,000,000 that are uninsured + 12,000,000 illegal immigrants if a national healthcare program is adopted.

Of course the latest ill-run national program was the “Clunkers For Cash” which ran out of money went back for triple the amount and now New York dealers are dropping it since the government isn’t paying them. Hey, we here on the Gulf could have warned you. FEMA is yet to pay millions in Rita and Katrina claims.

As a spiritual-futurist, I have a BA degree majoring in history. One cannot know the future without knowing the past which holds clues to what is on the horizon. The world is in such a rapid expansion of knowledge that we are close to entering a tipping point that will forever change earth as we know it.
